In its special urban planning program (PPU) for the village of Pointe-Claire, the City of Pointe-Claire emphasized its desire to make this unique historic area a preferred destination in the West Island by preserving its many attractions and taking advantage of its scale and unique village ambiance. To promote the development of the village, the City of Pointe-Claire plans to proceed by improving the quality of life, increasing housing availability, and stimulating economic activity, all while respecting the built heritage and distinctive ambiance of the area. This Village Code will then be applied in a spirit of protection, enhancement, and development of the village's multiple assets, including its architectural treasures, human scale, and traditional village character.
The final version of the Village Code adopted by City Council on April 3, 2018 is available for consultation.
