Kids' Corner – Stewart Hall Cultural Centre
The Kids' Corner of the Reading and Documentation Room is a unique and intimate place. It is suitable for reading and schoolwork, and a play area has been set up where children and parents can share a good time. Since May 2004, Mini-exhibitions have been held there, some of which have been very successful!

Mini-exhibition: The Ukulélé is my vibe
With its origins in Portugal but deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture, the ukulele is a stringed instrument that makes the heart sing.
One day, Francis Coupal discovered an old ukelele at a garage sale. After fixing it up, he quickly learned how to play it. Delighted by the experience, he built three other ones and immediately sold them to his friends. As a glass artisan with a studio, he soon made room to accommodate his new passion of building ukeleles. Since 2012, Coupal has made dozens of playful and colourful ukeleles every year. And he is pleased to note that each of his instruments has carried his mission forward: to spread joy among those who have the chance to strum its strings.
As the saying goes: “Ukeleles sound happy even when you’re sad.”
