Music Programs

The Stewart Hall Cultural Centre offers a variety of musical lessons from fall to spring with an experienced teaching team.

Founded by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, a Japanese musician and educator, the Suzuki method is based on the mother tongue approach: learning music imitates language learning. Neither language nor musical abilities are hereditary, and the potential of each child is unlimited.

The Suzuki method creates a stimulating environment that will inspire the child to want to play an instrument. Parental involvement is essential to the development of the child's natural talents. The parent attends the lessons and supports the child's practice at home.

No prior musical training required.

In a casual and fun environment, children begin by learning the basics of the instrument, such as technique, note reading, and how to understand rhythm.

Classic and simple, well-known tunes are used to introduce new chords, strumming patterns and techniques. By employing different learning approaches and activities, students will acquire the tools needed to build a solid musical foundation so they may continue exploring, learning, enjoying and growing through their musical journey.
