The flag system informs boaters of the water and weather conditions to evaluate whether or not they are favourable for an outing in Baie de Valois. Note that this system is offered as an indication and that conditions change from day to day and even within the same day. The flag is updated daily at the Canoe Kayak Club and on this page.
Green Flag: Good conditions Yellow Flag: Caution (winds or weather risks) Orange Flag: Restricted (strong winds or weather alerts) Red Flag: No boats on the water (Storm or extreme wind)
In no case is this system a substitute for boaters’ responsibilities and actions.
The Nautical Activities Department reserves the right to cancel practices and activities due to bad weather, poor conditions on the lake, or during a special event.
Courses are offered in the spring, summer, and fall by qualified coaches.
