General Parking Rules
It is prohibited to park a vehicle on a public roadway for more than 24 consecutive hours at any time, in accordance with Section 9.3.1 of Traffic By-law PC-2565. This restriction applies throughout the City.
In addition, vehicles such as buses, trucks, tractors, vans, trailers, RVs (motorized or not), or any service, commercial, or delivery vehicle may not be parked on public roads, public squares, or City-owned property except for loading or unloading, which must be done without pause or interruption, as per Section 9.22 of Traffic By-law PC-2565.
The by-law also stipulates that it is prohibited to park your vehicle in a municipal parking lot between 1 and 7 a.m.
Residential Parking Permits
Residential parking permits may be issued in designated areas. Visit the Parking Permit Application page for more information. Except for the specified zones, permits are not issued for areas where parking is normally prohibited.
Winter Street Parking
From November 15 to April 15, on-street parking may be prohibited to prevent interference with snow removal and road treatment operations.
Daytime Parking
During the winter season, it is recommended to park on the same side of the street throughout the day to help facilitate snow removal. To optimize the clearing of roads and sidewalks, please limit the time your vehicle is parked on the street. Always obey posted signage.
Overnight Parking
Visit the Parking Info page or call the Parking Info line at 514-630-1205 every day after 5 p.m. to verify whether overnight parking is permitted or prohibited for that night.
Respect the Posted Signage
Throughout Pointe-Claire, street signs indicate whether parking is permitted or prohibited on specific streets. These regulations are in effect year-round and must be followed, even if the Parking Info system allows overnight parking.
Always check the posted signage before parking your vehicle for an extended period to ensure compliance with parking regulations.
