On-Street Parking Rules

What are the parking rules in Pointe-Claire? Do I need a permit to park on the street? Can I park during snow removal operations? Here’s what you need to know about on-street parking in Pointe-Claire.

General Parking Rules

It is prohibited to park a vehicle on a public roadway for more than 24 consecutive hours at any time, in accordance with Section 9.3.1 of Traffic By-law PC-2565. This restriction applies throughout the City.

In addition, vehicles such as buses, trucks, tractors, vans, trailers, RVs (motorized or not), or any service, commercial, or delivery vehicle may not be parked on public roads, public squares, or City-owned property except for loading or unloading, which must be done without pause or interruption, as per Section 9.22 of Traffic By-law PC-2565.

Residential Parking Permits

On-street residential parking stickers may be issued in designated areas. Visit the Parking Permit Application page for more information.

Winter On-Street Parking

From November 15 to April 15, on-street parking may interfere with snow removal and road treatment operations.

Daytime Parking

During the winter season, it is recommended to park on the same side of the street throughout the day to help facilitate snow removal. To optimize the clearing of roads and sidewalks, please limit the time your vehicle is parked on the street. Always obey posted signage.

Overnight Parking

The Parking Info page and Parking Info phone line (514-630-1205) will inform you daily after 5 p.m. whether overnight street parking is allowed. If parking is exceptionally permitted, you must still follow posted signage.
