What to Do in Pointe-Claire This Summer: Sports Programs and Activities

With summer just around the corner, sports enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of outdoor activities and programs all season long!

Here is an overview of what the City of Pointe-Claire is offering for the 2026 summer season: 

Outdoor Sports in Parks and Green Spaces

Sports Fields

The City’s soccer, baseball, and softball fields are open for the season. These facilities are available for public use when not reserved for scheduled activities.

At Terra-Cotta Natural Park, visitors can take advantage of the soccer field's dedicated time slots reserved for public use. Please visit the Terra-Cotta Natural Park page for more information.

Tennis, Pickleball and Basketball Courts

Several tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are available for public use in Pointe-Claire. To give everyone a chance to use the courts, participants are asked to limit their game to 30 minutes during busy periods.

Lawn Bowling and Petanque

Did you know Pointe-Claire has lawn bowling and petanque facilities? Consult the Lawn Bowling Club's website, or email the Pétanque club at calbery64@hotmail.com, for more information about membership and club activities.

 

Pointe-Claire Parks Program

During the summer season, kids and teens aged 8 to 18 are invited to take part in the various activities and games offered by the Park Programs at their local parks, free of charge.

This is a great way to meet new friends and participate in group sports and leisure activities!

Equipment Lending Service 

This summer, the City is launching an equipment lending service at Alexandre-Bourgeau Park. With a valid MULTI card, residents can borrow nets, rackets, balls, games and other equipment, free of charge, to make the most of their time at the park.

Please note that residents must be 12 years old or older to rent an item. Equipment must be used within the park and returned the same day.

Outdoor Pools 

The outdoor pools in Pointe-Claire, managed by local associations, are officially opening for the season this month!

Splash Pads 

Our splash pads at Valois Park and Augusta Park are the perfect way to cool off on those hot summer days! To find their schedules, visit our Splash Pad page.

Wheelchair Loans for Water Activities 

The City offers an aquatic wheelchair service at the Valois Park splash pad, free of charge, as well as at Viking pool, to make summer activities fun and accessible for everyone.  

To reserve the wheelchair for the splash pad, please call 514-630-1211 at least 24 hours in advance.

Baie-de-Valois Nautical Centre  

Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and other watercrafts are available for rent at the base of the Baie-de-Valois Nautical Centre. Visit our boat rental page to learn more.

Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club 

The Canoe Kayak Club offers a variety of programs throughout the season, including paddling courses and an off-season training program. Learn more about their programming on our Nautical Programming page.

Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre 

From volleyball and group fitness classes to public swimming, the Sports Centre offers everything you need to stay active this summer.

Please note that the Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre will be closed for its annual maintenance from August 3 to August 16, 2026, inclusive. 

 

Bob-Birnie Arena 

The Bob-Birnie arena is offering public activity sessions throughout the summer, including public skating, shinny hockey, ringette, and figure skating. As a pilot project for this summer, some activities are offered on the weekend as well.
