Work Along the Edge of Kinsmen Park Woodland
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that slope stabilization work at the southeast edge of the woodland will begin this week and continue until mid-October.
Nature of Work
The work aims to better control stormwater runoff to reduce erosion of the slope.
Water from the drainage system will be redirected toward the centre of the woodland. This will help reduce the amount of water flowing directly near the slope during heavy rainfall.
The slope will also be reinforced with large natural stones and vegetation, in accordance with the requirements of the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP) for the protection of wetlands.
For safety reasons during the work, seven trees will need to be removed. New plantings are also planned as part of the project.
Traffic and Detours
To ensure the safety of pedestrians, the southbound sidewalk will be closed during the work. A safe pedestrian passage will be provided nearby.
Vehicle traffic will be maintained at all times.
This project has received financial support from the Government of Québec through the OASIS program, which stems from the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
