As of September 1, 2018, only invoices totaling less than $ 10,000 can be paid by credit card.
Applicable fees are due when the application is submitted. Damage deposits are due when the permit or certificate of authorization is issued.
Requests are processed in the order they are received.
- When a permit or certificate is issued, a deposit is required to cover the cost of repairing or replacing damaged City infrastructures. The deposit will be refunded if there is no damage.
- In some cases, fees may also be payable to the Engineering and Buildings Department.

You will receive an email that will either confirm that your application is complete or tell you that some documents are missing or incomplete.
Once your application is complete, it will be assigned a file number and you will be required to pay a processing fee. You can do this in person at the tax counter, located on the ground floor of City Hall, or by calling 514-630-1300, extension 1830.
