The City of Pointe-Claire will be carrying out improvement work on Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road, between Exit 51 of Highway 20 East and Raynor Avenue. These upgrades are part of the City’s commitment to modernizing municipal infrastructure

During certain phases of the work (phases 1 and 2), vehicular traffic will be completely interrupted on certain sections of Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road.

Public Transit – 202 Bus Dawson (STM)

Phases 1 and 2: detour from August 4 to 25.

Eastbound 

No stops between Canoe Kayak Club and Lakebreeze Avenue.

Temporary stops will be set up at both locations to allow you to board and disembark.

Westbound

No stops between Lakebreeze Avenue and the Highway 20 eastbound entrance (Saint-Jean Boulevard).

A temporary stop for the westbound 202 route will be installed on the Highway 20 westbound bus ramp, near the tunnel connecting Lakeside Avenue to the Pointe-Claire station. This tunnel will allow users to easily access the station despite the change.

Shared Taxis

Two shared taxis will be in service during the work to ensure that transport service is maintained.

The taxis will operate from August 4 to 25, between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., and will be easy to identify by minivans displaying magnetic “Bayview” and “Lakeview” signs.

Free service for STM users upon presentation of an OPUS card.

Please allow 20–25 minutes between each taxi.

Please note that the Navette OR taxi will remain in service for the CHSLD and is not associated with the collective taxi service.

Bayview

Phase 1: August 4 to 8, 2025

During phase 2, users will be able to take the Bayview and Lakeview shared taxis.

Bayview shared taxi – Pick-up and Drop-off

The Bayview shared taxi will transport westbound 202 route passengers from the City Hall terminus to the following stop:

  • 57748 : Bord-du-Lac / Milroy (Phase 1)

The taxi will then continue westbound to pick up passengers at the following stops:

  • 57724: Bord-du-Lac / Water's Edge
  • 57714: Bord-du-Lac / Lakeside
  • 57704: Lakeview / Hillcrest
  • 57700: Lakeview / Fifth
  • 57694: Lakeview / Hampton Gardens
  • 57684: Lakeview / Longmore
  • 57676: Lakeview / Saint-Jean

Terminus:

  • Pointe-Claire City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard)

Lakeview shared taxi – Drop-off

The Lakeview shared taxi will transport westbound 202 route passengers from the City Hall terminus to the following stops:

Phase 2: August 11 to 25, 2025

During phase 2, users will continue to be able to use the Bayview and Lakeview shared taxis.

Bayview shared taxi – Pick-up

Due to the closure of Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road between the CHSLD and the Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club, a detour will be necessary to allow boarding at the CHSLD Bayview terminus (27 Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road).

The Bayview shared taxi will transport westbound 202 route passengers from the City Hall terminus to the following stop:

  • 57786: Bord-du-Lac / No 24 (Phase 2)

It will then continue westbound to pick up passengers at the following stops before returning them to the City Hall terminus:

  • 57724: Bord-du-Lac / Water's Edge
  • 57714: Bord-du-Lac / Lakeside
  • 57704: Lakeview / Hillcrest
  • 57700: Lakeview / Fifth
  • 57694: Lakeview / Hampton Gardens
  • 57684: Lakeview / Longmore
  • 57676: Lakeview / Saint-Jean

Terminus:

  • Pointe-Claire City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard)

The Lakeview shared taxi will transport westbound 202 route passengers from the City Hall terminus to the following stops:

  • 57704: Lakeview / Hillcrest
  • 57700: Lakeview / Fifth

Pedestrians

Pedestrians will be able to move safely throughout the construction work.

Cyclists

Cyclist traffic will be prohibited during phases 1 and 2 of the work.

Detours are planned: cyclists will need to use the Pointe-Claire train station tunnel, Donegani Avenue, and the pedestrian bridge at Des Sources interchange.

Parking

Parking access will be maintained for the condo towers.

For single-family homes, a limited number of parking spaces will be available near the Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club during sidewalk construction.

Drinking Water

There will be no interruption to drinking water supply during the work.

Collections (Waste, Recycling, Compost)

Organic, recyclable and household waste collections will take place as planned. The contractor will transport the bins and return them to their proper location.

Please consult the Collection Calendar for collection dates.

Lawns

If the work affects your lawn, corrective work guaranteed for one year will be carried out after reconstruction.

You will be given a maintenance form.

Once the work has been handed over (scheduled for 2026), the City will no longer perform the maintenance.

Dog Park

The dog park will stay open while work is happening.

Canada Post

Mail delivery will continue as normal throughout the work.

Claims 

In the event of damage:

  1. Fill in the claim form.
  2. Send it to the Legal Affairs and Clerk’s Office (greffe@pointe-claire.ca):
  • Deadline: 15 calendar days following the incident.
  • Tip: Take dated photos of your property (inside and out) before work begins.

Driveways

A certificate of authorization is required for any modification to driveways.

Application deadline: July 11, 2025

Processing time: 30 days after submission of a complete file.

Closure of Highway 20 Eastbound Exit 51 – October 7 to 8

The City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that the next phase of the improvement work on Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road will take place on Tuesday, October 7, and Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

This phase will result in the closure of the exit 51 and of the access ramp to Highway 20 eastbound, in front of the Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club (75 Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road).

Access to Highway 20 eastbound will need to be made from Saint-Jean Boulevard.

Westbound traffic on Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road, between Raynor Avenue and Lakeview Avenue, will remain open.
