Resurfacing Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road, from Entrance of Highway 20 to Lakeside Avenue

From August 3 to October 30, 2026, resurfacing work will take place on Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road, located in District 2 – Lakeside, between the entrance to the Souvenir Highway (20) and Lakeside Avenue.

Description

Location: Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road, between the entrance to the Souvenir Highway (20) and Lakeside Avenue.

Investment: $1,996,999.99

The work includes:

  • Cleaning and preparing the road surface;
  • Reconstructing the sidewalks;
  • Repairing the curbs and some street drains;
  • Adding a new layer of asphalt.

Please note that the work will be carried out in multiple phases.

Timeline

August to September, 2026

Phase 1, between Lakeview and Hillside Avenues:

Road pulverizing,
Rebuilding storm sewer structures,
Demolition and reconstruction of concrete, borders and sidewalks,
Installing a new road surface,
Rebuilding driveways and grass.

Phase 2 : 8 au 18 septembre

Entrée de l’autoroute du Souvenir (20) et l'avenue Coolbreeze.
Fermeture à la circulation.

Pulvérisation et reconstruction des regards.

Phase 3 : 18 septembre au 30 octobre

Entrée de l’autoroute du Souvenir (20) et l'avenue Coolbreeze.
Circulation en sens unique en direction ouest (voie sud)

Démolition et reconstruction des trottoirs, nivellement de la fondation , couche de base.

Phase 4 : 18 septembre au 30 octobre

Entrée de l’autoroute du Souvenir (20) et l'avenue Coolbreeze.
Circulation en sens unique en direction est (voie nord).

Démolition et reconstruction des bordures, nivellement de la fondation, couche de base.

Phase 5 : 18 septembre au 30 octobre

Entrée de l’autoroute du Souvenir (20) et l'avenue Coolbreeze.
Circulation en alternance.

Remise en état des entrées charretières et engazonnement.

Phase 6 : 18 septembre au 30 octobre

Entrée de l’autoroute du Souvenir (20) et l'avenue Coolbreeze.
Fermeture complète.

Travaux de nuit, 21 h à 6 h : couche de roulement et marquage.

During certain phases of the work (phases 1 and 2), vehicle and bicycle traffic will be fully interrupted on certain sections of Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road.

Public Transit – Bus 202 Dawson (STM)

Phases 2 to 6: route detour from September 8 to October 30, 2026.

Phase 2: September 8 to 18

During this construction period, 16 bus stops will be suspended in both directions, between the Saint-Jean / Highway 20 stop and Bord-du-Lac / Water’s Edge.

Bus 202 Dawson will make a temporary stop at Pointe-Claire Station in both directions.

Shared Taxi Service

The shared taxi will provide transportation for 202 route users during peak hours: 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will drop passengers off at the suspended bus stops.

The service is free of charge for STM users upon presentation of an OPUS card.

Please allow 20–25 minutes between each taxi.

Note that the Navette OR shuttle service will continue to operate and is not linked to the shuttle taxi service.

Terminus: Pointe-Claire City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard).

Phases 3 and 4: September 18 to October 30

During this period, only eastbound bus stops will be suspended.

Bus 202 Dawson will make a temporary stop at Pointe-Claire Station in the eastbound direction.

Phase 5

During this period, the bus will follow its regular route.

Phase 6: Night Work

Due to full road closures during nighttime work, 16 bus stops will be suspended in both directions, between the Saint-Jean / Highway 20 stop and Bord-du-Lac / Water’s Edge.

Pedestrians

Pedestrians will be able to circulate safely during the works.

The tunnels at Baie-de-Valois and Lakeside avenues will remain accessible during the works.

Cyclists

Cyclist traffic will be prohibited during phases 1 and 2 of the work.

Detours are planned: cyclists will be required to use the Pointe-Claire Station tunnel, Donegani Avenue, and Valois Station.

Parking

Access to parking will be maintained for condominium towers.

For single-family homes, limited parking spaces will be available near the Pointe-Claire Canoe-Kayak Club during sidewalk construction work.

Drinking Water

There will be no interruption to drinking water supply during the work.

Organic, Recyclable and Household Waste Collections

Organic, recyclable and household waste collections will take place as planned. The contractor will transport the bins and return them to their proper location.

Access Limited to Local Vehicles

During certain phases of the work, such as the installation of mains and drinking water services, pavement reconstruction and curb construction, access will be limited to local vehicles.

Take Care of Your Lawn!

If you are affected by the reconstruction work, corrective work will be carried out on your grass surfaces.

This work is guaranteed for one year.

We ask you to take good care of your lawn. A poster with maintenance information will be sent to you after installation.

Canada Post

Mail delivery will continue as normal throughout the work.

Claims 

In the event of damage:

  1. Fill in the claim form.
  2. Send it to the Legal Affairs and Clerk’s Office (greffe@pointe-claire.ca):
  • Deadline: 15 calendar days following the incident.
  • Tip: Take dated photos of your property (inside and out) before work begins.

Driveways

A certificate of authorization is required for any modification to driveways.

Application deadline: July 10, 2026

Processing time: 30 days after submission of a complete file.
