Dogs

In Pointe-Claire, the canine species is proudly welcomed in many families. It is important for owners to comply with certain municipal regulations related to dogs.

New! Citizens who own dogs can now take advantage of a new online platform to obtain an identification tag and pay the annual registration fees. In just a few clicks, you can create your account, your dog's profile(s), schedule reminders to stay up to date, and make your payment online.

You will receive a new identification tag with an integrated chip by mail in the weeks following the payment, and your pet will wear it for life.

Masters and Dogs: The Right Reflexes

Every dog owner must:

  • ensure that the dog is registered and wears a City identification tag;
  • keep it on a leash no longer than 1.8 meters (six feet) at all times outside of a building, a sufficiently fenced area, or a dog park;
  • pick up its excrement and dispose of it hygienically;
  • ensure it does not disturb the peace by barking.

For the complete regulations concerning dogs and dog parks, consult the Regulations page.

Mandatory License

Identification Tag and Annual Registration Fees

The identification tag and the annual payment of registration fees are mandatory for all dogs. Registration and payment are done through the online platform. In just a few clicks, you can create your account, your dog's profile(s), schedule reminders to stay up to date, and make your payment online.

You will receive a new identification tag with an integrated chip by mail in the weeks following the payment, and your pet will wear it for life.

Support service is also offered through the platform (1 800 937-0478, support@emili.net), whether it's for registration, a forgotten password, or assistance with navigation.

It is always possible for dog owners to go to the town hall to proceed with registration. It should be noted that no identification tag will be given on-site and it will be received by mail in the weeks following registration.

Platform registration: emili.pet
