Refrigerated Rink Maintenance After Snowfall

The refrigerated rink requires special care and maintenance to keep the ice surface in the best possible condition. For this reason, only our teams are permitted to shovel the ice surface. This helps prevent ice clumps or areas with uneven ice.

After a snowfall, thank you for your patience while our team clears and prepares the ice for your safety and enjoyment.

Rink Location and Conditions

Please note that the condition and status of the ice surfaces may vary depending on weather conditions and changes in temperature.

To facilitate entry and exit of outdoor skating rinks, parks such as Northview and Alexandre-Bourgeau may have icy paths leading from the chalet to the rink. With these surfaces being very slippery, we ask you to be very cautious when using them. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rules and Proper Conduct

  • Wearing a helmet, gloves, and a neck protector is recommended
  • Skaters must only use the rinks during their opening hours

It is prohibited to:

  • Use a chair, stroller, or any other object on the rinks, except for a learning stabilizer
  • Climb or sit on the boards
  • Eat on the rinks or consume alcoholic beverages on the premises
  • Smoke or vape within nine meters of the park boundaries
  • Have pets in the chalet and on the rinks
  • Act in a disrespectful manner toward City employees and other rink users. You must clear the ice surface during maintenance or snow removal activities

Accidents or damage to the facilities must be reported immediately to staff on site or, in their absence, to Inspection – Public Security (514-630-1234).

The City of Pointe-Claire cannot be held responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
