We kindly remind you that there's no need to request collection of your branches. Public Works crews circulate throughout the territory on predetermined routes, so that collection runs efficiently.
Branch Collection
Branch collection takes place from May 1 to October 31 throughout the entire territory of Pointe-Claire.
The collected branches are turned into coarse chips that are used for landscaping in the city's parks and green spaces, and for maintaining the trails of the Terra-Cotta Natural Park. The excess quantities are redistributed free of charge to the residents of Pointe-Claire.
Instructions to Follow for Collection
To provide a faster and more efficient service, here are the instructions to follow to participate in the collection:
- The branches are placed on your property at the edge of the public road.
- The cut part of the branches faces the street to facilitate pickup.
- The branches must be free of debris (soil, roots, metal, etc.).
- The diameter of the branches is equal to or less than 10 centimetres (4 inches). Larger branches are accepted at ecocentres.
- The maximum height of any pile of branches must be 1.2 metres (4 feet). The branches should be spread out in width, rather than height, as much as possible.
For any pruning or felling carried out by a contractor, the latter must manage the wood and branches.
End of Season, After October 31
After October 31, the teams assigned to branch collection prepare the equipment for snow removal operations. If weather conditions remain favourable, collections can continue beyond October 31. We do not accept collection requests. You can bring your branches at any time to the ecocentres in the Montreal agglomeration that serve the City of Pointe-Claire. The closest are located in Saint-Laurent, at 3535 Sartelon Street and in LaSalle at 7272 St-Patrick Street.
