The City invites its residents to a family-friendly artistic celebration as part of the 2025 Cultural Rendez-vous, taking place on Sunday, May 25th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre.
Under the theme Along the Shoreline!, this free event offers a festive, creative, and inclusive day where visitors of all ages can dive into a world of arts and imagination.
On the program:
- Outdoor performances: K-pop dance, circus acts, folk-traditional music, storytelling, colorful street performances, and maritime theater, featuring Perla and the Fisherman, BateauKracBoom, and Les Scientifiqu’eaux.
- Exhibitions that you won't want to miss:
- Three Way Mirror – An exhibition by the queer collective Three Way Mirror (Daniel Barrow, Glenn Gear, and Paige Gratland). The artists, part of a frequently marginalized community, explore both personal and political themes using often-overlooked craft techniques such as hand-drawn animation, sewing, weaving, leatherwork, beading, and paper doll making.
- The Felt Portrait Gallery – Little Creatures – A mini-exhibition featuring portraits of Québec wildlife, from cardinals to squirrels, lovingly sculpted in merino wool by artist Daphné Loubot Landreville.
- Creative workshops for all ages: macramé, pottery, giant bubbles, collage, watercolor painting, character creation, and more.
- Youth activities: aquatic-themed face painting, Karibou circuit for toddlers, interactive science, storytelling under the tent, and a bike decoration booth.
- Artisan demonstrations: mosaics, weaving, woodturning, needlework, and philately.
- Enjoy a friendly atmosphere at the café terrace with food, sweets, and drinks, all benefiting Acappella Sounds Chorus.
