Halloween: A Celebration for Everyone

News
Published on September 26, 2025 to 10:46 a.m.

Residents can pick up an accessibility sign, free of charge, at City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard) or at the Recreation Building (94 Douglas-Shand Avenue). By placing it in front of your home, you indicate that your property is accessible for trick-or-treating, helping to create a celebration where every child feels welcome.

Simple steps to make your home accessible:

  • Clear walkways of any obstacles;
  • Make sure the path to your treat station is well lit;
  • Park your vehicle on the street or in the garage to free up access;
  • Set up your candy station at the end of the driveway, in the garage, or even from your parking spot.

Do you plan to hand out treats from your driveway, your decorated vehicle, or at the foot of your stairs? Great idea! All of these efforts help make Halloween safer and more accessible.

More ways to make Halloween inclusive:

  • Visit the Treat Accessibly website for more tips on creating a barrier-free trick-or-treat experience.
  • Join the Teal Pumpkin Project, promoted by Allergies Québec, by displaying a turquoise pumpkin to show that you offer allergen-free treats — a thoughtful way to reassure families and bring joy to even more children.

Together, let’s make Halloween a celebration for everyone!

Stay tuned: the City will also be offering a special program as part of this celebration. Full details will be shared shortly so you can make the most of it.
