In a show of solidarity, the mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, will have the City's flags in front of City Hall flown at half-mast for the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on Saturday, April 17.

“We extend our sincere condolences to Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Family and the British people,” Mayor Belvedere said.

Prince Philip married Queen Elizabeth II on November 20, 1947, and was the longest-serving royal consort in the history of England and the Commonwealth. He was born in 1921.

Flags will be flown at half-mast from dawn until dusk.
