The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to once again be an ambassador for the Lifesaving Society’s National Drowning Prevention Week, taking place from July 19 to 25. This year’s theme of Être bien préparé, c’est la base de la sécurité highlights the importance of being well prepared and adopting responsible and safe habits in and around water.
As part of the campaign, the City will be launching a week-long social media campaign focused on various themes, such as pool safety and distracted supervision.

Before participating in an aquatic activity, the Lifesaving Society recommends that you:
Depending on the activity, this may include wearing a certified lifejacket, avoiding diving or jumping into shallow or rocky water, and always making sure that children and weak swimmers are within arm’s reach of an adult.
Drowning can happen to anyone. Let’s make water safety a priority and enjoy a safe summer.
Whether you are just starting to swim or want to get qualified in lifesaving, the Pointe-Claire Aquatic Centre offers programs for all ages and skill levels.
You are never too old to learn something new, especially when it could save your life!
