Reconstruction Work: Closure of Chestnut Avenue
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that Chestnut Avenue will be completely closed between Douglas-Shand and Duke-of-Kent avenues for reconstruction work from April 7 to June 19.
Description of Work
This work is part of the City’s three-year capital expenditure program for street and municipal infrastructure improvements and rehabilitation projects. Specifically, it will allow for:
- replacement of water main and sanitary sewer pipes;
- replacement of the existing pipe with a rainwater pipe;
- removal of old pipes and backfill ditches;
- rebuilding of the roadway;
- improvement of street lighting with LED streetlights.
Traffic During the Work
During the work, detours will be set up via Douglas-Shand, Sundale, Duke-of-Kent and Inglewood avenues.
Road users are asked to slow down and stay alert to ensure the safety of workers on the site.
Pedestrians will be able to continue walking through the area during the construction period.
Visit the Chestnut Avenue reconstruction and streetlight replacement page in the Major Projects section of the website for an overview of the different phases of the work, roadblocks and other relevant information about the repair project.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
