This program is designed to give athletes a chance to compete in the sport of sprint canoe kayak at local, provincial, national, and international competitions.
More than a hundred paddlers, both children and adults aged 8 and older, are training to represent the Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club in several regattas of different competitive levels. During the season, athletes are invited to participate in at least three provincial regattas, as well as the provincial championship. During the peak season, most athletes train twice a day, five days a week, and participate in regattas every week.
A group of certified coaches support the team.
Prerequisites:
Participants must be comfortable on and in the water.
We recommend attending a day camp session before starting with the competition team.
All athletes must participate in at least one local or regional regatta and in the provincial championship.
*Note that the fee for the summer registration includes the competitive and federation affiliation fee.
During the competition season, most athletes train twice a day, five days a week, and participate in weekly regattas. They are required to participate in at least one local or regional regatta and the provincial championship.
Athletes are divided into groups according to their skill level, discipline, gender, and level of commitment (attendance, motivation, attitude, and goals).
Hybrid Camp
The hybrid camp is a program combining the race team and the day camp. This program is intended for young people who want to join the race team within the day camp schedule. Athletes will have the opportunity to train with the time allotted for races, participate in a few competitions, and have access to afternoon childcare.
