Consignment

Do you have soda cans and want to dispose of them properly? Are you wondering if water bottles and orange juice bottles also have a deposit? Here’s everything you need to know about the modernization of the deposit system in Quebec.

Why Consignment?

The objective of the consignment or a deposit-refund system for beverage cans and bottles, is to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. By bringing plastic bottles, aluminum cans or glass beverage bottles to a participating retailer or a dedicated Consignaction location, ensures that these beverage containers will be properly recycled and continue to be reused.

Where to Bring Containers For Consignment?

Quebec's network for recovering beverage containers is expanding. Citizens can return their beverage containers to a determined Consignaction Zone location or participating retailers.
