Why Consignment?
The objective of the consignment or a deposit-refund system for beverage cans and bottles, is to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. By bringing plastic bottles, aluminum cans or glass beverage bottles to a participating retailer or a dedicated Consignaction location, ensures that these beverage containers will be properly recycled and continue to be reused.
Where to Bring Containers For Consignment?
Quebec's network for recovering beverage containers is expanding. Citizens can return their beverage containers to a determined Consignaction Zone location or participating retailers.
Containers Accepted For Consignment
The deposit-refund applies to many beverage containers made of aluminum and plastic, and glass. All beverage containers in formats ranging from 100 ml to 2 L can be consigned. These containers can be taken to a designated collection point or, to your local retailer to receive a refund of the deposit amount.
