Earth Day: Remaining Tree Distribution

Following the 2026 Earth Day activities, a distribution of remaining trees will take place on Friday, May 29, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m., in the Public Works parking lot at the entrance located at the corner of Donegani and Terra-Cotta Avenues.

Approximately 50 native trees remain available, including red oaks, American basswoods, and ironwoods. To learn more about their size, foliage, and sunlight requirements, please consult the tree list.

Pointe-Claire residents may pick up one tree per person, while supplies last. Proof of residency will be required (driver’s license or MULTI card).

Take this opportunity to help grow the urban canopy by welcoming a tree onto your property in Pointe-Claire.

Earth Day: Trees Still Looking for a Backyard

Following the Earth Day 2026 activities, the City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform residents that trees are still available and ready to take root in a backyard.

Available species:

  • 7 red maples 
  • 17 ironwoods 
  • 54 American basswood 
  • 19 red oaks 

For more information on size, sunlight requirements, and foliage, please consult the tree list for full details on each species.

Thank you to everyone who took part in Earth Day.

Following this great show of engagement, milkweed plants (Asclepias incarnata) are still available free of charge at City Hall, so stop by to pick up yours while supplies last.

Essential to the survival of the monarch butterfly, this plant directly supports local biodiversity and the health of ecosystems. A great opportunity to green your yard or balcony!

Please note: a maximum of 3 plants per person applies.

Care Tips:

  • Repot the plants into a larger container if needed.
  • Water twice a week until the end of May.
  • They can then be planted outdoors.

The reservation period is now closed. Thank you all for your great participation ! 

Nearly 400 trees have been reserved this year, and several species are still available.

To ensure a smooth distribution process and minimize wait times, please respect the time you selected when making your reservation. Unclaimed trees may be distributed to others after 1:00 p.m. 

Missed the Reservation Period? 

No problem! You are welcome to come to the Public Works Yard (50 Terra-Cotta Avenue) on Saturday, April 25, starting at 1 p.m., to obtain a tree while quantities last.
