A Picnic Vernissage for the Exhibition L’art de perruquer / Parallel Play at Stewart Hall Park

On Sunday, July 5, from 12 to 4 p.m., the Stewart Hall Art Gallery invites you to a Picnic Vernissage at Stewart Hall Park to celebrate the launch of the new exhibition L’art de perruquer / Parallel Play.

Bring a picnic and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon by the water in a creative and interactive atmosphere.

Throughout the event, the public is invited to take part in a diverse program of activities:

  • A chance to meet the artist Émile Riopel;
  • Creative workshops;
  • Scavenger hunt;
  • Face-painting session;
  • Outdoor drawing and painting with the Urban Sketchers.

A Creative Contest in the Heart of Stewart Hall Park

As part of the event, a table decorating contest will be held starting at 11 a.m.

Participants are invited to work together to create a unique and welcoming picnic area, either at a reserved table or right on the lawn. The use of recycled materials and everyday objects is encouraged.

Decorate your table with an original touch! A panel of judges will award prizes for the most creative and inspiring decorations.

Participation is free, but registration is required. 
Registration deadline: Friday, June 26, at midnight.

About the exhibition

From July 4 to August 30, the Stewart Hall Art Gallery presents L’art de perruquer / Parallel Play, in collaboration with the Musée d’art de Joliette.

Curated by Manel Benchabane and Ariane De Blois, the exhibition brings together 16 artists and artist duos to explore places of memory and creation as living, shared, and open spaces.
