Pets and Domestic Animals
We know how important your furry best friend is, they are an integral part of your family. That is why the City offers dog parks and green spaces where pets can roam free. We ask however that all residents register their dogs and ensure their companion wears the City's identification tag.

Democracy and Civic Engagement

Municipal Taxes
New property owners are required to pay property transfer duties, commonly known as the Welcome Tax. For more information, visit our Transfer Duties page.

Water By-Law
As part of its efforts to reduce water waste, the City has adopted a water usage by-law in June 2024 to encourage more sustainable use of this resource throughout Pointe-Claire.
