Update: Heat Wave – July 1 to 5, 2026
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform residents that Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting a heat wave from Wednesday, July 1, to Sunday, July 5, 2026. Daytime temperatures are expected to feel above 40°C, with overnight temperatures remaining above 20°C.
To stay cool, the operating hours of the following facilities have been extended:
- Wednesday: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Thursday: 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday: 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Due to the heat, the Pointe-Claire Aquatic Centre will offer free public swimming to both residents and non-residents on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, during regular public swim hours.

- Friday: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

To stay cool, you can also take advantage of our splash pads and outdoor pools.
If you're attending the Canada Day celebrations, cooling stations will be available on site. Don't forget to bring your reusable water bottle!
Please note that some municipal buildings will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, for Canada Day.
Day camp activities and the Park Program will be adapted during the heat wave, and some Park Program activities will be relocated to sites with air-conditioned spaces.
