Arboricultural work in Pointe-Claire parks and green spaces
The City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that the Public Works and Buildings Department will be carrying out arboricultural work remove any trees located near trails or landscaped areas. This work will be carried out in Pointe-Claire’s natural woodlands, parks and green spaces over the next few weeks, Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
From February 5 to 16, this work will be carried out in Terra-Cotta Natural Park and Cedar Park Heights Park. The trails will remain open to the public during this period, but certain sections will be temporarily inaccessible for safety reasons. To ensure everyone’s safety, park users are asked to respect the safety perimeters.
From February 19 to March 22, our teams will be mobilized throughout the territory to carry out felling work in various other parks and green spaces.
Where possible, certain trees will be totemmed. This technique involves removing all branches and retaining part of the trunk, thus contributing to the park’s biodiversity, and providing shelter or nesting sites for birds and mammals.
New native trees will be planted in these woodlands in 2024 and 2025.Through the diversity of their species, these trees will ensure the development of a healthy urban forest.
