Mission
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of all public facilities, equipment, and buildings, in order to support sustainable development and improve citizens’ quality of life.
Role
The Public Works Department is responsible for:
- maintaining municipal infrastructure:
- roads, sidewalks, bike paths, parking lots, tunnels and overpasses
- the sewer and aqueduct system
- developing, planning and supervising construction or renovation projects in municipal buildings
- overseeing:
- road signage
- road marking
- maintaining parks, green spaces and public spaces:
- playgrounds, benches, picnic tables, etc.
- outdoor rinks
- outdoor pools
- green spaces
- the shores of Lake Saint-Louis
- Terra-Cotta Natural Park
- the fight against emerald ash borer
- gardens in public places
- community garden
- tree inspection
- maintaning City Buildings:
- aquatic facilities and arena
- buildings

- managing the City’s fleet of vehicles
- delivering citizen services related to the environment and sustainable development:
- educational activities
