Trio Guillaume Martineau: Beatles Jazz
The greatest pleasure of jazzmen has always been to surprise their audience by presenting the music they are most familiar with from a completely unexpected angle. The trio of pianist Guillaume Martineau, double bassist Éric Lagacé and drummer Mark Nelson take the Beatles’ music, already one of the most colourful in the world, and go all out to explode the melodies that have taken the world by storm. Through dazzling improvisations and surprising arrangements, “Come Together”, “Hey Jude” and “Blackbird” take on a new meaning, uniquely shaped by the imagination of our three musicians.
