In her in situ response to Traversée/Crossing exhibition, Michelle Furlong applies her spatial sensitivities to the ebbs and flows of water. Through site-specific, sculptural installation of varying scales, she presents a prism to approach water sports or other water-based, leisure activities. Bridging the environmental fluidity of the Lac Saint-Louis with the interior space of the Stewart Hall Art Gallery, the artist reminds us how water can be a site of embodied and transcendent actions.
