First Local Ecocentre of the Year: Saturday, May 11

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to remind you that the first ecocentre of the year will be held this Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Public Works Yard (50 Terra-Cotta Avenue).

Ecocentres enable residents to dispose of many items in a simple and efficient manner, so that they can be reused, recycled or recovered. Ecocentres are a good way of managing residual materials, extending the life of objects and materials, and diverting them away from landfill sites. You can bring construction and electronic waste, tires, and any other items that cannot be recovered during regular, bulky items or hazardous household waste collections.

We remind you that branches of a diameter of more than 10 cm are not picked up at the curb by our teams and can be dropped off at the ecocentre. The document shredding service will also be available.

Wood chips and compost

Wood chips and compost will be available free of charge on this day. Please limit your quantity to 100 L per person to allow as many citizens as possible to benefit. Don’t forget to bring your shovel and containers. Please note that last year’s meteorological events enabled us to offer a larger quantity of wood chips, due to the many trees damaged during the ice storm.

Did you know that wood chips are used by the Public Works team to beautify and landscape public areas? They are used to maintain the condition of trails, particularly in the Terra-Cotta Natural Park, as well as green spaces throughout the territory, and to enhance landscaping.

Depending on attendance numbers and the size of the waiting line, we may have to limit access before closing time.
