Appointment of the Director of Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department for the City of Pointe-Claire

The City de Pointe-Claire Mayor, Tim Thomas, and the municipal council members confirmed at yesterday’s council meeting the appointment of Claude Rhéaume as Director of Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development.

Mr. Rhéaume will continue to implement the actions arising from the 2023-30 Strategic Plan, all the while overseeing the City’s community, sports, cultural and leisure services’ development.

“I am very pleased to welcome someone with experience not only in the municipal realm but also in related fields to this important department. Together, we’ll be working on the key issues of programming, development and new needs to accommodate our increasingly diverse population. I’m sure we’ll all benefit from his expertise,” explained General Manager Karina Verdon

Prior to joining the City of Pointe-Claire, Claude Rhéaume was Director of Citizen Life for the City of Châteauguay. He also held the position of Director, Culture, Sports, Leisure, and Social Development for the City of Montréal’s Anjou borough.

Mr. Rhéaume holds a bachelor’s degree in administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a master’s degree in administration from the University of Sherbrooke.

Claude Rhéaume will assume his new duties starting May 27, 2024.
