New squad set up to make composting easier

The City of Pointe-Claire has set up a summer-long team of four students to assist residents who would like help with sorting their residual waste materials.

This team is known as the Waste Management Squad (WMS); its objective is to take the guesswork out of home composting and make it easier for people to become more environmentally responsible.

Squad members will be patrolling the streets in your neighbourhood on bicycle to promote lifestyle habits that will benefit the environment. You can make an appointment to have these specialists come to your home; they will also be attending various events, visiting day camps and taking part in the multi-unit residential building composting program.

Tips and tricks

The team offers tips and tricks on how to avoid odours, along with guidelines on waste sorting and various types of information concerning the environment.

Feel free to ask them all your questions about composting, kitchen cones and odour eliminator kits.

Information

Members of the Waste Management Squad also provide advice over the telephone. Don’t hesitate to contact them.

The Waste Management Squad is available for home appointments from Tuesday to Saturday, including the possibility of evening visits. To make an appointment, please call Public Works at 514-630-1230, or send an email to tp@point-claire.ca.
