I shop in the village! A campaign to support our businesses in Pointe-Claire and Valois villages

The mayor of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, and the members of City Council invite citizens to participate in the second “I shop in the village!” campaign in partnership with the Pointe-Claire Village Association and the Valois Village Commercial Association in support of our merchants.

“The first edition of this campaign was a major success. Let’s continue to stand with and encourage our shops, boutiques and restaurants in order to support our local economy after the forced break due to the pandemic. We encourage you to come out to both villages in great numbers,” said Mayor Belvedere.

Again this year, vouchers that can be used in participating businesses will be available on the website of La Ruche – Pointe-Claire Village and La Ruche – Valois Village. A $20 voucher becomes $30 to spend in the store or restaurant of your choice as well as a $20 donation to the West Island Community Shares organization. The campaign runs from May 24 to June 6 or until vouchers run out.

This crowdfunding campaign is a partnership between the Pointe-Claire Village Association, the Valois Village Commercial Association, the Ville de Montréal, Desjardins, La Ruche, PME MTL West Island and the City of Point-Claire in an effort to encourage buying in Pointe-Claire and Valois villages and revive the local economy affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
