Spring break activities offer enjoyment for all
Morris Trudeau, mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, invites citizens to take advantage of the many activities offered by the City as part of spring break, which runs from March 4 to 10.
“Everyone is invited to take part in the activities organized by the City during spring break,” says the mayor. “It’s a great opportunity for young and old to enjoy themselves and meet new people.”
The Bob-Birnie Arena is hosting Vertical Influences, a contemporary skating show performed by Le Patin libre. The show, which unfolds in two parts, brings the audience right into the action as spectators put on their skates and join the artists in an introduction to dance and choreographed numbers.
The Library will be welcoming young people and their families for a wide range of exciting workshops. From rhyming story time to monster story time, young children will move from one world to another through the magic of words. Putting their books aside, they will listen to Mohawk Chief Top Leaf reveal how animals get ready for a change of season. The older ones will have fun in craft workshops as they bring LEGO® bricks to life in stop-motion animation, create a bowling game, or make 3D objects. The whole family will enjoy family movie night with popcorn.
The Stewart Hall Cultural Centre is offering workshops that sing. Children will join Fine mouche in discovering the wide world through the musical tale Fine mouche et les petites gouttes d’or. With the workshop/concert Sing, Sing, Sing!, children will put on a mini-opera along with their parents. Skillful young participants will enjoy showing off their manual dexterity during the Construction Challenge as they design and build tall structures.
The Aquatic Centre is adding recreational swimming periods to its regular schedule. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 4 p.m., everyone is invited to jump in and have fun in the water.
