Guaranteed fun, all summer long!

After a winter season filled with activities, the fun continues this summer! Sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy more exciting outdoor activities in Pointe-Claire all season long.

A wide range of services are being offered for the 2024 summer season. Here is an overview of what the City of Pointe-Claire has in store for sports enthusiasts:

Soccer

Open use periods have already started at Terra-Cotta Park. The public soccer schedule can be found on the Terra-Cotta Natural Park page, under the Soccer Field tab. Bring your soccer ball, football or track shoes and come take advantage of the fields’ public hours!

Looking to join an organized soccer team with others also seeking a bit of competition and comradery this summer? All are welcome to register with Soccer Pointe-Claire. Consult their website for more information regarding fees and registration.

 Baseball

Six of Pointe-Claire’s parks feature a baseball/softball diamond, which are available to the public when organized games are not being held. These field are regularly groomed and maintained throughout the summer season.

For those looking to join an organized baseball league, Baseball West Island offers a fun and engaging environment for kids and teens. Consult their website for more information or contact them by email at contact@baseballwestisland.com.

Tennis, Pickleball and Basketball

Tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are now open to the public. Consult the interactive map to find out where these courts are located.

Please note that the courts at Northview Park will be closed as of Tuesday, May 7. A larger project is planned for this year to renovate these facilities, and an announcement will be made once they are accessible to visitors.

Interested in playing on clay courts, or with organized leagues? Our two partner associations Clearpoint Tennis Club and Valois Tennis Club are still accepting registrations. Visit their respective websites to learn more about their club.

 Outdoor Pools

The Associations who run the activities at the outdoor pools are excited to welcome you for the 2024 season! Registration for the outdoor pools will take place on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., except for Lakeside pool (Ovide), which will have its pool registrations on June 1st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pool sign ups will be conducted at the respective park’s chalets except for the Sunnyside and Viking pools, whose registration will take place at the Arthur-E.-Séguin Park chalet.

The Open House days are scheduled for June 15 and June 16, from 12 to 8 p.m. The regular season will start on June 26. For more details, consult the Outdoor Pools and Splash Pad page on our website.

Splash Pads

Our two splash pads are the perfect way to stay fresh on those hot summer days! Follow the City’s Facebook page to be informed when the splash pads will open at Valois Park and Augusta Park.

Skatepark

The skatepark is now open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The park offers a variety of modules and structures for both beginners and experts: street furniture, a bowl, a capsule, a mini ramp, and a wave. Helmets are mandatory.

 Outdoor Fitness Park

The outdoor fitness park located on Maywood Avenue is now open for daily public use. Consult its location using the interactive map on our website.

 Boules Sports

Did you know Pointe-Claire has Lawn Bowling and Pétanque facilities? Consult the Lawn Bowling website, or email the Pétanque club at calbery64@hotmail.com, for more information on membership and activities.

Parks and Greenspaces

The City has over 30 parks and greenspaces located on its territory, with many offering outdoor ping pong tables, play areas and accessible outdoor furniture. Visit the website’s interactive map to locate the park nearest you and the amenities that they offer.

Nautical Centre

As of May 18, residents and non-residents will have the opportunity to rent out kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. For information on the schedule and cost, please consult the Recreational Paddling Program page.

Olive–Urquhart Sports Centre

From badminton to volleyball, a variety of recreational and sport-specific activities, as well as dynamic group classes, are offered at the Sports Centre. Its strength and conditioning facilities have everything you need to achieve your conditioning goals. For more information consult the Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre page.

Bob-Birnie Arena

The Bob-Birnie arena will be open to the public from May 13 to August 16 to offer a greater range of open activities: skating, hockey, ringette, and figure skating. Find the weekly schedule on the website’s Bob-Birnie Arena page.

Aquatic Centre

Recreational swimming periods are offered to the public throughout the summer: lane swimming, leisure swimming, family swimming, fun time swim and diving. Visitors of all ages and all levels will find activities that suits their swimming ability. Find the summer schedule on the website’s Aquatic Centre page.
