Update – New distribution of trees for residents

Reserve your tree now!

Update: May 15, 2023

As part of Earth Day, approximately 500 trees were offered free of charge to the residents of Pointe-Claire. Despite the popularity of this event, there are still one hundred trees of the following species to be donated.

If you are interested in obtaining a tree for free, please contact us by email at tp@pointe-claire.ca providing the following information:

  • The name of the tree to be reserved (note that if we run out of the requested tree variety, we will move on to the next person.) You can include a first and second choice.
  • Your first and last names
  • Your full address
  • Your telephone number

We will send you an email to let you know which tree species will be reserved for you.

Residents will be able to retrieve their trees on Public Works Day, May 27, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., at the Public Works yard (50 Terra-Cotta Avenue). If you do not show up or if there are still trees at the end of the retrieval period, they will be distributed to participants who would like to obtain one during the event on Public Works Day.

The reservation form  is now online to allow you to choose the species of tree you want to have.

The first 100 people to reserve a tree online can obtain a rain barrel at no cost. The barrel can be picked up at the same time as the tree, at the Public Works yard on Saturday, April 29.

Additional barrels will be on sale on site, at a cost of $40, as well as domestic composters, at a cost of $25. Make sure you have the exact amount in cash. Kitchen cones and compost will also be available at no charge.

New! Citizens will be invited to pick up their reserved tree in person on April 29. In order to avoid a long line, when reserving your tree, you must select the time slot in the reservation form at which you will pick up your tree. Citizens who have not reserved a tree may go to the Public Works yard between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to pick up one of the items mentioned above, while supplies last.

We want to remind you that no object, material or matter will be accepted on this day. The next Ecocentre will take place on May 13.

A specialist will be available Thursday, April 13 until 4:30 p.m. to answer your questions and give you advice on choosing a tree. You can contact this person by phone at 514 630-1230 or in person at City Hall.
