Update: City of Montréal resumes work to improve the drinking-water network

The City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that the second phase of the work by the City of Montréal to improve the drinking-water network will begin on March 14, 2024, on Lakeview Avenue, between Hampton Gardens Avenue and Saint-Jean Boulevard. The work will take place Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting April 2, similar work will be carried out along the entire length of Lakeside Avenue, from Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road to the crescent at the end of the street. The work will take place Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We remind you that local traffic will still be permitted around the worksite. Residents will be able to access their homes during the work period. Pedestrians will be able to circulate freely in the safety corridors that will be set up. Public transit service will be maintained, although stops, schedules and routes may be modified.

Reminder of the City of Montreal’s work to improve the drinking water network

Due to the City of Montréal’s work to improve the drinking water network on Lakeside Avenue, between Lakeshore – Bord-du-Lac Road and Highway 20, the Lakeside post office box has been moved to Coolbreeze Avenue, at the corner of Lakeshore – Bord-du-Lac Road. The box is located on the east side of the avenue.

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to remind you that the first phase of work to improve the drinking water system, carried out by the City of Montreal, will begin on Monday, October 30, 2023, on Lakeside Avenue, between Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore Road and Highway 20. Work will be carried out Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Local traffic will still be possible in the vicinity of the worksite. Residents will be able to access their homes during the construction period. Pedestrians will be assured of safe passage via safety corridors. Public transit service will be maintained, although stops, schedules and routes may be modified.

Improvement work on the drinking water network by the City of Montreal

The City of Montreal will carry out major work regarding the construction of a new drinking water pipe on the territory of Pointe-Claire starting Monday, October 30. The work will last two years. It will improve the performance, sustainability, and quality of the West Island’s drinking water distribution network.

This multi-phase construction project will cause various obstructions to traffic in District 2 — Lakeside in Pointe-Claire:

  • Lakeside Avenue, between Highway 20 and Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road;
  • Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road, between Lakeside and Lakeview avenues;
  • Lakeview Avenue, between Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road and Saint-Jean Boulevard.

It will still be possible to access homes during this period of construction work. Pedestrians will be able to peacefully move around thanks to the safety corridors that will be implemented.
