Inauguration of the new skateboard park

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, is pleased to invite citizens of all ages to the inauguration ceremony of the City’s new skatepark, on Saturday, June 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“With this family event, a unifying project becomes a reality. We hope that everyone can take advantage of this beautiful space with its design that gives priority to accessible and inclusive development,” Mayor John Belvedere points out.

The new skateboard park includes a variety of modules and structures to please both beginners and more experienced skateboarders: urban furniture modules, a bowl, a capsule, a mini-ramp and a wave. With its 12,000 square feet, this facility can accommodate both skateboards and bicycles, scooters or wheelchairs.

Throughout the inauguration ceremony, participants of all ages will be able to participate in many free activities: demonstrations by professional skateboarders, introduction workshop for novices (compulsory helmet), food kiosks and music groups.

To close the festivities, two lucky participants will leave with a magnificent personalized skateboard in the City’s colours. To enter the random draw, simply show us your helmet and drop a ticket in the box when you arrive on the site.

Skatepark users are urged to be careful and respect other users. Wearing a helmet is compulsory at all times.

The skatepark is located at 94 Douglas-Shand Avenue. Participants young and old are expected at 11:30 a.m.
