Lake Saint-Louis shoreline improvement work

From September 19 to mid-November, the City of Pointe-Claire will be carrying out maintenance work to improve facilities and ensure safety along the shores of Lake Saint-Louis.

To this end, teams will be working to remove dead or diseased trees, as well as invasive plants. This vegetation control is designed to promote the growth of native plants and healthy trees that naturally promote bank stabilization. Fall is an ideal time for this work, since it is outside of nesting periods.

The City is continuing its efforts to maintain and improve the ecological and environmental quality of its shorelines and, in this perspective, has submitted an action plan to the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (ministry of the environment and the fight against climate change—MELCC) to preserve and maintain the quality of the shores of Lake St. Louis.

All these actions serve to emphasize this special access to Lake Saint-Louis, which makes Pointe-Claire a distinctive place to live.
