Lighting of the tree in Pointe-Claire Village
The City of Pointe-Claire is very pleased to announce the return of the event that marks the start of the Holidays in Pointe-Claire, in an adapted format, with the lighting of the tree on the municipal lot at Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road and Cartier Avenue, on Thursday, November 25, at 6 p.m. Those young and young at heart can enjoy a fire and light show,small street performances, and participate in the countdown to the lighting of the tree.
Due to the health measures around public events, the site will be sectioned off and registration will be required to participate in the event. The site can accommodate 400 people, in two different ways: 350 people can experience the moment directly on the site, while 50 others are invited to lace up their skates and skate around the tree during the entire event! Skaters will have a place to sit to put on and take off their skates.
The site will be accessible as of 5 p.m. and the show will start at 6 p.m. Participants can access the site via Cartier Avenue, at the north end of the lot.
For everyone’s safety, the following guidelines will be enforced on site:
- The vaccination passport is required for people 13 years or over, in addition to photo I.D. for people 16 years or over.
- A face covering must be worn throughout the event.
Broadcast on Facebook
So that as many people as possible can enjoy the event, those who cannot be on site can watch the show and the lighting of the tree live on the City of Pointe-Claire’s Facebook page starting at 6 p.m.
Registration on Ludik
Citizens who wish to attend the event in person must register on the Ludik platform with their valid MULTI card. Registration will begin on Monday, November 22, at 7 p.m., on a first come first served basis. For assistance with registration, contact 514-630-1366, between 7 and 9 p.m. During registration, all participants must register individually; each family member must reserve their own place.
Closure of the street and skating rink
The City will close Cartier Avenue between Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road and the north limit of the municipal lot as of 3 p.m. on the day of the event. Stores on Cartier Avenue will remain accessible at all times.
People on the skating rink or the municipal lot at Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road Cartier Avenue who are not registered for the event will be asked to leave the premises at 3 p.m.
In the spirit of sustainable development and to reduce our ecological footprint, we encourage citizens to come to the event on foot. If this is not possible, please use the various municipal parking lots:
- On Lanthier Avenue
- Near the pumping station on Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road
- At Alexandre-Bourgeau Park
Taking photos and videos
During the event, photographers from the City of Pointe-Claire or designated by it will be taking photos that could be used by the City on any of its platforms for purposes of promoting, posting and documenting. There is therefore a chance that you will appear in one of these photos. By participating in this event, you agree to be photographed and authorize the City of Pointe-Claire to use the images in print, digital or electronic form for purposes of promoting, posting or documenting.
